It was always a real pleasure to meet with Lawrence through our work at the university. He had this way of always asking people 'how are you?' that made them actually stop and tell him, and then he really listened. I also really appreciated his good sense of humour, and sense of wonder at the world, he was so appreciative and interested in everything.
